IPL 2023 Retention List: Which Teams Are Poised for Victory?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has released the list of players retained by the franchises ahead of the 2023 season. The players have been divided into four categories: Retained, Right-to-Match (RTM), Transfer and Release. The retained players will remain with their current teams, while the RTM players can be reacquired by their previous franchises.

The Mumbai Indians have retained 13 players, including Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah. Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings have retained 12 players, including MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Ravindra Jadeja.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have retained 11 players, including Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell. The Kolkata Knight Riders have retained 10 players, including Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine.

Other franchises have also made significant retentions. The Delhi Capitals have retained nine players, including Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer. The Rajasthan Royals have retained eight players, including Sanju Samson and Chris Morris. The Punjab Kings have retained seven players, including KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal.

The player transfer window will be open from March 6 to March 12, allowing teams to acquire players from other franchises. The IPL 2023 season is set to begin on March 30, with the defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match.
